Global Contract Foundation
The Global Contract Foundation is actively involved with the Global Marshall Plan Initiative. Current information on this Initiative can be found at www.globalmarshallplan.org.
As a consequence of globalisation, we are now facing a number of social and ecological problems which can no longer be resolved on a local or national level. Examples include climate change and the extreme social inequality that can be seen around the world.
In order to effectively address these problems, an international framework is needed to ensure that the world economy functions for the collective good. The Global Contract Foundation is named accordingly in pursuit of this goal.
The Global Contract Foundation works on two levels. The Foundation works to prepare content-based proposals for the establishment of an international framework and then lobbies critical decision makers in politics, business and civil society with these plans. The Foundation also endeavours to get involved in any meeting or event where international frameworks are being discussed and decided. For example at WTO negotiations or UN world summits.
Another central aim of the Foundation is to raise awareness, not only amongst decision makers, but also amongst the general public.
The Foundation works in close co-operation with other organisations, as it is believed that it is only by working together, that we can overcome the significant challenges that are faced.
